SpamCop URL number increment sequence prediction
| spamcop-url-seq-predict (5933) |
Description:
SpamCop could allow an attacker to spam email recipients. The service is designed to return a URL to the sender to verify valid emails. The sender then clicks on the URL and the email is validated. However, the URLs are created with a set prefix followed by a predictable increment number. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending one valid email message to receive the first validating URL, and then send repeated spam messages, using shell scripts to validate the predicted URLs.
