Description:
Ruby is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking when handling filenames on Windows systems. By assigning a malicious value to the ARGF.inplace_mode variable, a local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.
