Sun Cluster HA-NFS service symbolic link
| ha-nfs-symlink (6125) |
Description:
Sun Cluster could allow a remote attacker to launch a symlink attack on systems running the HA-NFS data service. The HA-NFS service creates a "/var/opt/SUNWcluster/fm/fmstatus/nfs/<logicalhostname>/status" file that displays the status of the HA-NFS service and is read by the in.mond utility. A vulnerability in the HA-NFS service could allow a remote attacker to connect to in.mond using Telnet and create a symbolic link on the "status" file to view any file on the system.
