Samba sid_parse() buffer overflow
| samba-sidparse-bo (61773) |
Description:
Samba is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the sid_parse() and dom_sid_parse() functions when reading a binary representation of a Windows SID (Security ID). By sending a sid, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer in the smbd daemon and execute arbitrary code on the system.
