Caldera OpenServer lpshut buffer overflow

Description:
SCO OpenServer is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the Ipshut program. By default, Ipshut is installed suid bin. By using command line arguments and sending Ipshut a string containing 6239 characters or more, an attacker can overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of bin.

Apply the appropriate patch for your system, as listed in SCO System Security Enhancement (SSE) SSE072B 11-Apr-2001. See References.
As a workaround, chmod -s /opt/K/SCO/Unix/5.0.6Ga/usr/lib/lpshut.
