Caldera OpenServer deliver buffer overflow

Description:
SCO OpenServer versions 5.0 to 5.0.6 are vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the deliver program. By default, the deliver program is installed suid root. By using command line arguments and sending deliver a string containing 4085 characters or more, an attacker can overflow the buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with root privileges.

Apply the appropriate patch for your system, as listed in SCO System Security Enhancement (SSE) SSE072B 11-Apr-2001. See References.
As a workaround, chmod -s /opt/K/SCO/MMDF/2.43.3b/usr/mmdf/bin/deliver.
