Caldera OpenServer reject buffer overflow

Description:
SCO OpenServer is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the reject program. By default, reject is installed suid bin. By using command line arguments and sending reject an unusually long character string, a local attacker can overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system with privileges of bin.
Platforms Affected:
- SCO, SCO OpenServer 5.0.0 to 5.0.6
Remedy:
Apply the SSE072B patch for this vulnerability, as listed in SCO System Security Enhancement (SSE) 11-Apr-2001. See References.
