Description:

Qualcomms Eudora Internet Mail Server (EIMS) is vulnerable to a denial of service attack, caused by a buffer overflow from a long USER command. By connecting to TCP port 106 and issuing a USER command followed by a string containing 1000 bytes or more, a remote attacker can overflow a buffer and cause the server to crash.

Platforms Affected:

  • Qualcomm, EIMS Server 2.01 and prior
