Description:
IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express for Software Distribution ActiveX control (Isig.isigCtl.1) is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the RunAndUploadFile() method. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web page, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the victim's browser to crash.

There is no replacement for IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express for Inventory (5724-N88) and IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express for Software (5724-N89) Distribution. However a follow-on product, IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager for Lifecycle Management v8.1 (5725-C43), is available. Tradeup part numbers are available from the IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager Express products for customers who are currently licensed.
