Description:
The "Blank Lines In Password File" check searches for blank lines in the system password file. Blank lines in the password file could cause problems with normal system operation. Also, blank lines could be a result of clumsy editing of the password file, perhaps by attackers.

Remedy:
The blank lines should be removed from the /etc/passwd file.
