Description:
The printers program is vulnerable to buffer overflow in the command line argument. An attacker can overflow a buffer to gain root privileges.
Platforms Affected:
- Various vendors, Unix
Remedy:
To prevent non-root users from being able to execute 'printers', use the command 'chmod 500 /usr/sbin/printers'.
