AtheOS "dot dot" sequences could be used to break out of the base directory

Description:
AtheOS could allow a local attacker to traverse directories on the system. Once a process specifies a directory using a chroot() call, the user should be restricted to this directory only. A local attacker could issue a command containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to traverse directories and obtain files outside of the chroot limits.
