Description:
The Xtell package is vulnerable to a buffer overflow. By sending long strings to the Xtell client, a remote attacker can overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.

For Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 (potato):
Upgrade to the latest version of xtell (1.91.1 or later), as listed in DSA 121-1. See References.
For other distributions:
Contact your vendor for upgrade or patch information.
