Description:
Zope could allow an attacker to gain elevated privileges. A vulnerability regarding the lack of security in objects created with proxy roles, could allow an attacker defined in the subfolders of a site to gain elevated privileges to unauthorized objects.
Platforms Affected:
- RedHat, Linux Powertools 7.0
- RedHat, Linux Powertools 7.1
- Zope, Zope 2.2.0 to 2.5.x
Remedy:
Upgrade to the latest version of Zope (2.5.1 or later), or apply Hotfix_2002-03-01, available from the Zope Web site. See References.
For Red Hat Powertools:
Upgrade to the latest man package, as listed below. Refer to RHSA-2002:060-17 for more information. See References.
