Mod_frontpage is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the fpexec.c file. A remote attacker can overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the Web server with superuser privileges.

For Mandrake Linux 8.0 and 8.1:
Upgrade to the latest version of mod_frontpage (1.6.1-3.1 or later), as listed in MandrakeSoft Security Advisory MDKSA-2002:021 : mod_frontpage. See References.

For FreeBSD 4.5 ports collection:
Upgrade to the latest version of mod_portname (1.6.1 or later), as listed in FreeBSD Security Advisory FreeBSD-SA-02:17. See References.
