IBM AIX uuq -r buffer overflow

Description:
IBM AIX is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the /usr/bin/uuq program. By sending an overly long string to uuq using the -r command line option, a local attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Remedy:
For IBM AIX 4.3.x:
Apply APAR IY23401 patch, available from the IBM Technical Support Web site. See References.
For IBM AIX 5.1:
Apply APAR IY24231 patch, available from the IBM Technical Support Web site. See References.
