Description:
The 'dtterm' program is vulnerable to buffer overflow via an environment variable. Vulnerable versions can be exploited to gain root privileges.
Platforms Affected:
- IBM, AIX 4.1
- IBM, AIX 4.2
- Open Group, Common Desktop Environment (CDE)
Remedy:
Install IBM fix IX68647 (AIX 4.1) or IX68676 (AIX 4.2) as appropriate.
