MIT cgiemail can be used as an open mail relay

Description:
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) cgiemail version 1.6 fails to properly filter user-supplied data for special characters. A remote attacker can append new line code containing "%0a" with an arbitrary email addressed to predefined variables to use the script as an open mail relay.

Remedy:
For Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 (woody):
Upgrade to the latest cgiemail package, as listed below. Refer to DSA-437-1 for more information. See References.
