Description:
phpBB could allow a remote attacker to include malicious PHP files, if the "allow_url_fopen" and "register_globals" variables are set to "On" in the php.ini file. A remote attacker can include malicious PHP files by sending a specially-crafted request containing "install.php" and set the "phpbb_root_dir" parameter to a malicious PHP file on a remote system.
Platforms Affected:
- phpBB, phpBB 2.0 up to 2.0.1
Remedy:
Set the the "allow_url_fopen" and "register_globals" variables to "Off".
