Description:

WWWOFFLE (World Wide Web Offline Explorer) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow in the handling of negative "Content-Length" values. By sending an HTTP request with a negative value in the "Content-Length" header field, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer causing a segfault in the child process. It may be possible for an attacker to exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system.

Upgrade to the latest version of WWWOFFLE (2.7c or later), available from the WWWOFFLE Web page. See References.

Upgrade to the latest WWWOFFLE package, as listed in SuSE Security Announcement SuSE-SA:2002:029. See References.
