Microsoft Internet Explorer "Web Folder" script injection
| ie-webfolder-script-injection (9881) |
Description:
Microsoft Internet Explorer could allow a remote attacker to execute script on a victim's computer using the Internet Explorer "Web Folder" feature. The "Web Folder" feature allows a user to edit and publish Web content. If a Web Folder does not exist, an error message is displayed when a user attempts to access a Web Folder. A remote attacker could create a malicious Web page that could cause a custom error page containing malicious script to be stored in a victim's temp directory, once the page is visited. This could allow an attacker to cause the execution of malicious script within the victim's "My Computer" security zone.
